It also brings many social and physical and mental health benefits to individuals and can be used as a social lubricant to combat isolation and break down cultural barriers. Its used as a form of entertainment or an outlet from daily routine and stress, and also plays a major role in the economic fabric of society by way of employment, tourism and businesses that collectively spend and generate billions of dollars annually on leisure.
