Health, Wellbeing, and Physical Activity

Our Appreciation

Increasingly important is the need to take a preventative rather than reactive approach to physical and mental health. Wellbeing is however more than being physically fit. It includes several components which enmesh our daily lives to include things such as connectedness to communities, having family and friends nearby, employment, financial security, education, housing, and of course having time for and access to quality leisure time activities and pursuits.

Physical inactivity and poor diet choices however, have a severe impact not only on the individual, but also the health system and national health budget. Parks, open spaces, and participation in quality leisure time activity has a positive impact on individuals and communities and the environment in which we live can be conducive or prohibitive to both incidental and deliberate physical activity and of course our overall state of wellbeing.

Our Approach

We take our clients on a journey of defining wellbeing and the impact this has on both physical and mental health of communities. We develop a comprehensive understanding and policy framework for clients, and research modern trends including the correlation between GDP and genuine progress, or ‘happiness’ of communities.

We also highlight the scope of involvement not falling on one agency alone, and assist clients to understand the role they play, and how they can join agendas with other agencies for mutually beneficial outcomes for all. In summary, health and wellbeing is more than the absence of physical activity, and several factors contribute to our physical and mental health that are explored when undertaking strategies of this nature. Strategies therefore outline a policy framework to include the roles in enhancing wellbeing, and more importantly what can be done to remove barriers and enhance the lifestyle of individuals and communities.
