Blueprint Master Planning

Our Appreciation

One Eighty SLS was one of the first businesses to identify and plan holistically for a whole of council sporting precincts which considers the optimal location of sport and recreation , and the best use of public open space. Blue print master planning is one tier higher than site specific master plans and assist councils in determining existing site uses, compatible sports and activities, and gaps or areas of over supply of sites.

When developing blueprint master plans our approach includes:

  • Understanding sites and facility carrying capacity which includes:

    • Turf Impact Assessments (TIA) and

    • Schedules of Use of existing users

  • Determining the current and future needs of sporting groups

  • Strategic alignment of existing policies and strategies.

  • Compatibility assessment of activities and sports within precincts and facilities

  • Geographical placement of precincts

  • Opportunities for their use.

This approach considers optimal location and compatible uses of district or higher classifications of open space. Once this assessment has been undertaken, Councils can strategically plan and deliver site-specific master plans which lead to prioritised staging and development.
