Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

The measure of any great civilisation is in its cities, and a measure of a city’s greatness is to be found in the quality of its public spaces, its parks and its squares.

What its about.

Open space provides the fabric and backbone for many things recreation and leisure and is also a valuable asset for local communities by way of passive recreation, aesthetics, environmental significance, and economic value.  Local government is the main custodian of public land, and in most instances is responsible for their management, planning and protecting for a broad range of needs and demands,

When undertaking open space strategies, our approach is objective and quantitative and includes:

  • Auditing and mapping open space within a given area

  • Determining a benchmark provision based on current populations

  • Benchmarking the provision against local, state and national averages

  • Assessing current and future shortfalls of open space or areas of oversupply

  • Determining a hierarchy of open space

  • Assessing if there are shortfalls in hierarchy provision and design

  • Determining types and ‘permissible’ forms of use within the hierarchy (active v passive)

  • Assessing gap areas and strategies for acquisition or potential divestment

  • assessing shared use opportunities with other land owners and managers

  • Understanding the community’s concerns

  • Providing a framework for developer contribution.

  • Providing a clear vision and prioritised strategy for future management and use

Our team has undertaken many open space projects to include:
