Master Planning

Master planning is an assessment of current and projected sporting and recreation needs, to also include day to day access and use by the broader community.  One Eighty was one of the first companies to lobby and support for the development of centralised shared, multi-use facilities, and whilst this is not always possible, practical, or feasible, it should be an aim to ensure facilities are optimised and the viability of clubs and groups maximised through shared resourcing.  Our approach to master planning is a therefore a two staged process whereby stage 1 incudes:

  • Identifying the Strategic factors that have and will continue to influence the project and the likely outcomes and layout of the site.

  • Developing an agreed Vision through consultation and alignment with stakeholder expectations and the strategic context (visioning and needs analysis)

  • Identifying the Infrastructure requirements to meet the vision and

  • Establishing Governance options to assist in determining how facilities will be programmed and used for optimal access.

Once this has been achieved, stage 2 can progress which is a more detailed design and management implementation plan through to funding, construction, and operation.
